April 23, 2012.....Pony and his brother Max were very lucky pups as they beat the odds and are still here with us after surviving Parvo. Late today both pups went back into their foster homes. Both boys will be available for adoption in a few weeks.
I would like to introduce everyone to Max. He is 13 lbs 10 months and is very gentle, active and loves to give kisses. We think he is a Chihuahua Terrier mix, who stole the hearts of everyone at the shelter. He came into the care of Safe Haven on April 10, 2012 with his shelter kennel mate we named Pony. Pony is also maybe a Chihuahua Terrier mix who is around 12 months of age. Both of these precious boys have broken out with Parvo on April 14, 2012. They both are at the Veterinary Emergency Center fighting for their lives and we do mean fighting for their lives. We really could use any amount of donation that you can afford to help us help these boys. MEDICAL INFORMATION:

- Basic Exam by Veterinarian
- Spayed or Neutered
- Heartworm Tested
- Placed on heartworm preventive
- Micro-chipped
- Intestinal Parasite Exam and medication
- Vaccinations
- Placed on Flea preventive

OUR APPLICATION PROCESS 1. E-mail us for an application.
2. Fill out an application, COMPLETELY, and return it to us.
3. Once your application is received, it will be forwarded to a volunteer to set up a home visit and check your references at a time convenient to the volunteer
4. Once you are approved for a dog, you will be invited to meet the dog at a date and time convenient to the foster family or at an adoption event.
5. If after meeting the dog the foster family and you decide the dog is a good match for your family the foster mom will finalize the adoption.

If your application has been approved, but the dog you applied for is no longer available, please take the time and look over our adoptable dogs again. We will make every effort to find the right dog for an approved applicant.
